Foundations Bible School: Session 2
Foundational Beliefs
By Marc Vidito
The rocks, trees, and stars lead people to a knowledge of God
Nature speaks for God.
“When Yeshua came near the slope of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began to rejoice. They praised God with a loud voice for all the miracles they had seen, saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of Adonai! Shalom in heaven and glory in the highest!” Some of the Pharisees from the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples!” But answering, Yeshua said, “I tell you that if these keep silent, the stones will shout out!””
Luke 19:37-40 TLV

“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky shows His handiwork. Day to day they speak, night to night they reveal knowledge. There is no speech, no words, where their voice goes unheard.”
Psalms 19:2-4 TLV

So for us to declare the glory of God is nothing. We are not necessary. We cannot feel pride about being in ministry.
Human nature, disease, poverty, pollution, evil- they all declare the brokenness of the world and the need for a savior.
There is nothing special about us saying that there is sin or that we as humans need redemption. This is nothing.
But- only we can tell the history of God’s grace and covenants. Only we can point to His interaction with our space and time in the past and share the hope of His redemption in the future.
Only we can tell of the promises of a Messiah and the fulfillment of those promises.
Only we can tell what He has done in our personal lives and how He has become real to us.
But even this cannot be done unless we first believe. And this belief is nothing if we do not proclaim it and confess our belief in Yeshua (Jesus) as God, The Son, and the embodiment of the Spirit.
If we do not believe and proclaim Yeshua’s death and resurrection and if it does not have effect on our lives, this our ministry will be empty.
“For if you confess with your mouth that Yeshua is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart it is believed for righteousness, and with the mouth it is confessed for salvation. For “Everyone who calls upon the name of Adonai shall be saved.”
Romans 10:9-10, 13
Do you believe this today?
We must start with this foundation.
Before we begin our journey, I will ask you the fundamental questions of our faith.
Decide in your heart- do you believe these statements to be true?
If so- say to one another- “I believe”
If you cannot proclaim this belief, you may continue our program but will not be released in ministry until you do agree to these beliefs.
I know this makes it sound hard and exclusive. It is not. We accept everyone into this study and into this discussion. But to be released into ministry- there is simple logic. You cannot give what you do not have.
“And how shall they proclaim unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who proclaim good news of good things!” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Messiah.”
Romans 10:15, 17 TLV

In order to go in the Name of God and the Messiah Yeshua, you must be sure enough about what you believe about Him to proclaim it.
So, these are the fundamentals. I will ask and you answer IF you believe them to be true.
God is the only God and is the creator of all things
God made a covenant with Israel and the Jewish people that cannot be revoked.
Sin is acting in a way that goes against God’s design or commands.
I, you, we have all committed sin at some point and need forgiveness.
God promised that a Messiah, a savior, would come through the people of Israel from the line of King David that would redeem us from the penalty of sin.
Yeshua (Jesus) fulfilled and is fulfilling those prophecies, including the specific prophecies of Psalm 22 and Isaiah 53.
Yeshua lived, died, and rose again from death which fulfilled the requirements to atone for sin.
Anyone, of any tribe, language, or nation, who believes in Him and proclaims Him as the only Lord and symbolizes this belief with water immersion can be saved to eternal life.
the Spirit of God is still with us today teaching us, through the Word of God, how to navigate this life in preparation of our eternal life in the new Heaven and new earth.
If you agree and said “Yes” to these statements, then you are indeed a believer and part of the family of God. Your eternal life is secure so long as you believe and proclaim.
If you cannot say yes yet, you can stay and learn, discuss, and explore these truths with us. We pray that you too will come to this belief because we believe that it will give you a fulfilled life here on earth and eternal life with your Heavenly Father and your heavenly family.
I look forward to this exploration with you!
Let us pray.
