I pray all is well and that your year is off to a great start! It’s been unusually cold everywhere, but the chill here in the usually sunny south has given me a taste of the Midwest winters I miss! Call me crazy!

As you know, God moved on my heart in the spring of 2023 to start a project that may be the most poignant of my ministerial efforts. In short, after seeing the Jesus Revolution movie and visiting Asbury University in the early spring of 2023, I became ravenous to hear and document people’s testimonies. But, 15 minutes into a conversation with Rabbi and Rebbetzin Michael and Rachel Wolf, the project “They Called Him Yeshua” was birthed in my heart and mind. I HAD to collect the testimonies of rabbis and leaders in the Messianic Jewish community who came to faith or started their ministries during the Jesus Movement of the 60s and 70s.

I began this venture at Messiah Conference 2023 recording incredible- and I mean incredible interviews with people like Marty and Jenny Goetz, Paul Wilbur, Paul Liberman, Jonathan Bernis, Martha Stern and others. Since then, I have travel to the Midwest and up and down the east coast recording Jamie Lash, Stuart Dauermann, Rich Nichol, Joel Chernoff, and many others.

Each interview has far exceeded my hopes and dreams. I have personally been so enriched by these stories. But there are many more to tell.

This spring, I am planning a two week trip to Israel with my daughter to finish the first part of this project. Thanks to a partnership with Netivyah in Jerusalem and use of their studio, I have the opportunity to record greats from this pioneer generation that have made Aliyah. People like Joe and Debbie Finkelstein, Asher Intrader, Eitan Shishkoff, Avi and Chaya Mizrachi, Ari and Shira Sorko-Ram and others who not only helped pioneer our modern movement, but also helped create the Messianic Jewish community in the Land of Promise, Eretz Yisrael.

What a time to collect these stories! What a time to show support for our people and our land!

I am in need of $4500 to make this trip a reality.  I will be traveling with the express purpose of giving voice to these inspirational stories.

Why? Why now?

I believe that we are on the precipice of a historical paradigm shift as a community. And, as our community moves into this redefining time of revival, the building blocks of change lie in the knowledge of the past. I want present and future leaders in the Messianic community to know their past. To learn from the pioneers so that they may build what God has in store for the future.
